Berwick Shipyard, 1970The main entrance to the yard is visible to the right. Just beyond is the Main Office. The small building with the chimney served as the Blacksmith's Shop. The two-storey building to the left housed the Drawing Office and the Foreman's Office. In the foreground can be seen part of the superstructure of one of the two RAF Seal Class vessels built at Berwick. This was manufactured elsewhere and brought to Berwick for assembly. The stack of frames visible at the bottom of the picture were for new cradles that were built to allow vessels to me moved within the yard.
