BUILT TO LAST

Completed at Berwick as Craigielea in 1959 Denarius underwent a major refit in 2006 that included the installation of a new engine, gearbox and fish handling system suggesting that the vessel has many more years of fishing ahead.

During the vessel's lifetime the upper deck has been completely re-modelled with the result that the overall profile is quite different to the original 'sputnik' design. The fine condition of the hull after 50 years of fishing in the North Sea is testimony to the vessel's design, maintenance schedule, quality of materials and workmanship.
