The following fishing vessels were built at Berwick after the closure of Gowan's yard. A 'Dandy' was a type of sailing rig. The early steam drifters still retained a full set of sails, both as an emergency back-up, and also to use at the same time as the engine, if the wind was favourable. (GT)
